Traditional Edict

Two-flowered sea daisy. Clears toxic heat, cools blood, activates circulation to dissipate stasis, stops bleeding, knits tissue, and neutralizes marine venom and animal stings.

Cautions & Contraindications

Wash fresh coastal herbs thoroughly in fresh water to remove sand/sea salt before poulticing. Contraindicated in Spleen deficiency cold diarrhea. Caution in pregnancy.

Clinical Applications

Coral lacerations, contaminated tropical ulcers, marine stingray/jellyfish stings (neutralizing pain/phospholipase A2), acute urethritis/gonorrhea, and colitis.

Mechanism & Phytochemistry

1. Wedelolactone inhibits 5-LOX and neutralizes venomous phospholipase A2 (PLA2), halting rapid tissue necrosis and pain. 2. Grandiflorenic acid and kaurenoic acid lyse cell walls of S. aureus and N. gonorrhoeae. 3. Accelerates wound collagen synthesis.

Preparation & Dosage

THE SOVEREIGN COASTAL WOUND POUltice: 30-50 g fresh leaves pounded with salt applied directly over bleeding coral cuts and marine stings. Dried herb decoction: 10-20 g daily. Postnatal perineal wash: 50 g boiled.
