Cautions & Contraindications

CRITICAL BITTER-COLD OVERDOSE WARNING: Excessive chronic intake damages Spleen Yang, causing hypothermia, cold limbs, and diarrhea. STRICTLY CONTRAINDICATED in pregnancy (uterine stimulant) and cold constitutions.

Mechanism & Phytochemistry

1. Vernodalin and vernolepin alkylate IKK sulfhydryl groups, halting NF-kB and triggering Caspase-3/9 apoptosis in breast and prostate carcinoma. 2. Luteolin-7-O-glucoside activates AMPK, suppressing hepatic gluconeogenesis and upregulating GLUT4. 3. Hepatoprotection.

Preparation & Dosage

Fresh Leaf Cooling Tisane (Air Daun South Africa): 1-3 fresh mature leaves steeped in 500 mL boiling water: 1-3 leaves daily (DO NOT EXCEED 5 LEAVES). Dried herb: 3-9 g. Cycled: 2-3 weeks on, 1-2 weeks off.
