    Caesarweed / Pink Burr (Pulut-pulut / Di Tao Hua / Xiao Fan Tian Hua). Pastel pink blossoms and hooked velcro-like burr fruits. Sovereign Botanical for Acute Mastitis and Dysuria (Bengkak Susu & Kencing Kotor): resolves breast engorgement, clears cloudy dysuria, draws pus.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Burr fruits have barbed spines (filter decoctions through fine muslin). High clinical, maternal, and pediatric safety profile. Safe in lactation (clears mastitis while preserving milk flow).

    Clinical Applications

    • Puerperal acute mastitis and breast abscesses (downregulating localized mammary inflammation via Mangiferin), acute urinary tract infections with dysuria, chronic rheumatoid arthritis, and boils.

    Quality Markers

    Mangiferin (芒果苷) >= 0.50%, Urenol, Lobatoside & Mucilage Arabinogalactans >= 5.0% (HPLC ChP standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Mangiferin and urenol inhibit mammary NF-kB and COX-2, dissipating inflammatory breast nodules. 2. Mucilage arabinogalactans form a demulcent coating along inflamed urethral mucosa, relieving burning dysuria.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN PULUT-PULUT MASTITIS & DYSURIA DECOCTION: 20 to 30 g dried whole herb or roots boiled with Dandelion (Pu Gong Ying, 20 g) in 600 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily. Topical breast poultice: 50 g fresh leaves pounded with rice wine over swollen breasts.
