    Baheda / Bibhitaki (Belimbing Hutan / Pi Li Le / Mao He Zi). Velvety greyish-brown 5-angled drupes. Sacred Middle Pillar of Triphala (San Guo Tang): clears vocal hoarseness and lost voice, liquefies deep pulmonary phlegm, sweeps fatty liver (NAFLD), purges excess Kapha.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Always deseed fruits and use outer fruit rind (inner hard seed kernel has fixed oils). High metabolic, digestive, and long-term safety profile. Safe in lactation. Contraindicated in acute emaciation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic vocal cord hoarseness, aphonia, and laryngitis (restoring acoustic resonance via Belliricoside and gallic acid), Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD steatosis reduction), and hyperuricemia.

    Belliricoside (毗黎勒苷) >= 1.20%, Gallic Acid >= 4.00%, Chebulagic Acid & Total Hydrolyzable Tannins >= 18.0%-25.0% (HPLC ChP standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Belliricoside and gallic acid suppress vocal fold submucosal Reinke's edema. 2. Termilignan activates AMPK and downregulates SREBP-1c to clear hepatic fat accumulation. 3. Xanthine oxidase inhibition.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SACRED TRIPHALA CHURNA FORMULATION: Equal parts (1:1:1) Baheda, Haritaki, and Amla fruit rinds ground into 120-mesh powder; take 3.0 to 5.0 g in warm water at bedtime. Vocal tea: 10 g deseeded Baheda boiled with Mu Hu Die and Jie Geng in 400 mL water.
