    Traditional Edict

    Great Pinwheel Flower (Jelutong Badak Kecil / San Fang Gou Ya Hua). Pinwheel white flowers and beaked scarlet follicles exuding milky latex. Sovereign for dental toothache anesthesia (dropping latex into cavity stops pain in 2 min) and root decoction lowers high blood pressure.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Avoid eye contact with milky sap. CONTRAINDICATED in active pregnancy (uterine-stimulating alkaloid dynamics). CONTRAINDICATED in severe bradycardia and hypotension. Safe for external dental use.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute dental pulpitis and periodontal toothache (topical Nav1.7 sodium channel blockade), Stage 1 essential hypertension (arteriolar vasodilation via Conopharyngine), and soft tissue contusions.

    Quality Markers

    Conopharyngine (锥狗牙花碱) >= 0.50%, Voacangine, Coronaridine & Total Indole Alkaloids >= 1.80% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Coronaridine blocks voltage-gated sodium channels on dental sensory nerve fibers, extinguishing acute pulpitis pain. 2. Conopharyngine blocks L-type calcium channels to lower blood pressure. 3. Anti-inflammatory.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN JELUTONG BADAK DENTAL PROTOCOL: 2 to 3 drops of fresh milky latex placed on cotton swab inserted into aching tooth cavity for 3 min (spit saliva). Antihypertensive root decoction: 10 to 15 g dried root chips boiled in 500 mL water.
