    African Tulip Tree / Fountain Tree (Pancut-pancut / Huo Yan Mu). Flaming scarlet-orange goblet flowers with water-squirting buds. Thick bark decoction powerfully lowers diabetic blood sugar, heals chronic burn ulcers, binds watery diarrhea, halts malaria.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Do not administer high-dose bark decoctions in early food poisoning before toxins evacuate. High safety profile in external wound care. Safe in lactation; moderate internal use in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (postprandial glycemic blunting and peripheral GLUT4 translocation), chronic refractory skin ulcers and burn wound cicatrization, acute infectious dysentery, and malaria.

    Quality Markers

    Spathodol (Triterpene) >= 0.60%, Caffeic Acid, Ursolic Acid & Condensed Tannins >= 10.0% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Spathodol and ursolic acid stimulate skeletal muscle glucose uptake and inhibit intestinal a-glucosidase. 2. Condensed tannins cross-link ulcer proteins for granulation. 3. Antiplasmodial schizontocidal action.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN PANCUT-PANCUT GLYCEMIC & WOUND BARK DECOCTION: 15 to 30 g dried bark chips boiled in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily for diabetes or diarrhea. Topical burn wash: 50 g bark boiled in 1 L water for washing ulcers.
