    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Drink abundant clean water (>=2.5 L daily) during gout therapy to flush dissolved uric acid crystals. High safety profile in traditional Jamu. Safe during lactation; moderate use in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute and chronic gouty arthritis (lowering serum uric acid and dissolving monosodium urate tophi), hyperuricemia, chronic rheumatoid arthritis, and calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis.

    20-Hydroxyecdysone (Ecdysteroid) >= 0.50%, Ecdysterone & Total Flavonoids >= 2.00% (HPLC Indonesian Pharmacopoeia)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Flavonoids and 20-hydroxyecdysone competitively inhibit hepatic Xanthine Oxidase (IC50=4.25 ug/mL), blocking uric acid synthesis comparable to allopurinol. 2. Upregulates renal uricosuria. 3. Synovial anti-inflammatory.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN SIDAGURI ANTI-GOUT JAMU DECOCTION (Jamu Sidaguri Asid Urik): 20 to 30 g dried roots/herb boiled with Orthosiphon stamineus (Misai Kucing) and Temulawak in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily during gout flares. Fresh poultice: 50 g.

    Appended Prescriptions

    • 1. The Sovereign Nanyang Anti-Gout & Uric Acid Triad with Orthosiphon stamineus (Misai Kucing) and Peperomia pellucida (Sirih Cina). 2. Rheumatic Joint Poultice with Zingiber zerumbet.
