    Cautions & Contraindications

    • RAW JUAN BAI IS ABSOLUTELY CONTRAINDICATED IN PREGNANCY (forceful blood-breaking dynamics). Charred Juan Bai Tan is safe for postpartum and gynecological hemostasis.

    Clinical Applications

    • Raw: Dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea from blood stasis, and pelvic fibroids; Charred (Juan Bai Tan): Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB), hemorrhoidal bleeding, hematuria, and peptic ulcer bleeding.

    Quality Markers

    Amentoflavone >= 0.40%, Hinokiflavone, Trehalose & Total Biflavonoids >= 1.50% (HPLC Chinese Pharmacopoeia standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Raw biflavonoids inhibit platelet aggregation and promote fibrinolysis for blood stasis. 2. High-temperature charring (200C Tan) creates carbonized nanoparticles and condensed tannins that cross-link vessels to stop bleeding. 3. Trehalose desiccation.

    Preparation & Dosage

    CRITICAL PAOZHI MANDATE: RAW VS CHARRED DUALITY: 1. RAW JUAN BAI (Sheng Juan Bai): 5 to 10 g boiled for amenorrhea and blood stasis. 2. CHARRED JUAN BAI (Juan Bai Tan, roasted until black outside, brown inside): 6 to 10 g boiled to halt uterine bleeding.
