    Doederlein's Spikemoss (Paku Lumut Merah / Shi Shang Bai / Long Lin Cao). Dark green cypress-like fronds growing on shaded rocks. Chief Oncology Sovereign: purges toxic fire, induces apoptosis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and lung cancer, clears throat ulcers.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Paucity of toxicity; high clinical oncology safety profile with minimal bone marrow suppression. Contraindicated during active pregnancy (blood-moving dynamics). Safe during chemotherapy/radiotherapy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC radiation adjuvant and apoptosis induction), non-small cell lung cancer, acute Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) mononucleosis, acute pharyngotonsillitis, and hepatitis.

    Quality Markers

    Amentoflavone (穗花杉双黄酮) >= 0.80%-1.50%, Robustaflavone >= 0.50% & Total Biflavonoids >= 2.50%-4.00% (HPLC ChP standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Amentoflavone and robustaflavone downregulate anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and NF-kB, triggering mitochondrial Cytochrome c release and Caspase-3/9 apoptosis in NPC and lung carcinoma cells. 2. EBV viral capsid antigen inhibition. 3. Antiviral lysis.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN SHI SHANG BAI ONCOLOGY FORMULA: 30 to 60 g dried whole spikemoss boiled with Oldenlandia diffusa (Bai Hua She She Cao) and Scutellaria barbata in 1 L water for 45 min; taken daily for nasopharyngeal and lung cancer adjuvant care. Throat tea: 15-30 g.
