    Traditional Edict

    Sweet Broomweed (Rumput Gula Batu / Bing Tang Cao). 4-angled stems with rock-sugar sweet leaves and white bearded flowers. Nature's Herbal Insulin: regenerates pancreatic b-cells to lower blood glucose, flushes out urinary bladder calculi, clears summer fevers.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Authentic herb must taste sweet when chewed. High clinical and pediatric safety profile. Contraindicated in severe Spleen deficiency cold watery diarrhea without heat signs.

    Clinical Applications

    • Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (pancreatic b-cell regeneration and GLUT4 translocation), urolithiasis/nephrolithiasis (calcium oxalate dissolution and flushing), acute viral infections (HSV-1, influenza), and hepatitis.

    Quality Markers

    Scopadulcic Acid A & B >= 0.50%, Amellin (Antidiabetic diterpenoid) >= 0.80% & Betulinic Acid (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Amellin stimulates pancreatic b-cell insulin secretion, normalizing HbA1c. 2. Potassium salts and bioflavonoids inhibit calcium oxalate crystal aggregation while relaxing ureteral muscle. 3. Scopadulcic acid B inhibits viral DNA polymerase.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN RUMPUT GULA BATU GLYCEMIC TEA: 20 to 30 g dried whole herb boiled with Morus alba leaf (Sang Ye) and Misai Kucing in 600 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily before meals (naturally sweet). Lithagogue flush: 30 g with Guang Jin Qian Cao.
