    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Wear gloves when harvesting to avoid hooked stem prickles. CONTRAINDICATED during active pregnancy for high-dose root decoctions (commence strictly postpartum). CONTRAINDICATED in spastic constipation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Postpartum uterine subinvolution and lochial bleeding (stimulating rhythmic myometrial contraction), acute and chronic secretory diarrhea (E. coli, Shigella), childhood nocturnal enuresis, and spermatorrhea.

    Rubupiloside, Coreanoside F1, Tormentic Acid & Proanthocyanidins >= 10.0%-16.0% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Tormentic and asiatic acids stimulate myometrial a1-adrenergic tone, speeding uterine involution. 2. Condensed tannins cross-link enterocytes to arrest diarrhea. 3. Enhances internal urethral sphincter tone.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN DAYAK CONFINEMENT UTERINE RECOVERY DECOCTION: 20 to 30 g dried root chips boiled with Kacip Fatimah and Temulawak in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily postpartum for 30 days. Fresh wild berries: 50-100 g daily.
