    Traditional Edict

    Tropical Kudzu (Kudzu Tropika / San Lie Ye Ye Ge / Puero). 3-lobed hairy leaves and violet flowers. Tropical Gegen: releases stiff neck, computer-shoulder tightness (Luo Zhen), quenches diabetic thirst, dilates coronaries, neutralizes alcohol hangovers.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Cool nature (avoid prolonged high doses in Spleen-Stomach deficiency cold watery diarrhea without heat signs). High clinical and athletic safety profile. Safe in pregnancy in infusion dosages.

    Clinical Applications

    • Cervical spondylosis with neck and shoulder muscle rigidity, tension-type headaches, coronary artery disease with angina, Type 2 Diabetes polydipsia, and acute alcohol hangover.

    Quality Markers

    Puerarin (葛根素) >= 2.00%-4.00%, Daidzein >= 0.50% & Total Isoflavones >= 5.00% (HPLC Chinese Pharmacopoeia standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Puerarin opens BK-Ca channels and stimulates eNOS, producing coronary and cerebral vasodilation. 2. Daidzein inhibits sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium release to relax contracted neck muscles. 3. Upregulates ALDH2 to clear acetaldehyde.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN TROPICAL KUDZU STIFF-NECK & CORONARY DECOCTION: 20 to 30 g dried tuberous root chips boiled with Gui Zhi and Bai Shao in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily for stiff neck. Hangover tea: 20 g vine boiled with Chrysanthemum.
