Traditional Edict
Qingming soul herb. Silvery woolly leaves. Kneaded into jade-green Qingming Guo pastries. Diffuses Lung to transform phlegm, calms asthmatic wheezing, dispels wind-dampness, and lowers uric acid.
Cautions & Contraindications
- Wash thoroughly in water to remove dirt trapped in dense cottony tomentum before cooking. High safety in food and medicine.

- Chronic asthmatic bronchitis, productive cough with tenacious sputum, hyperuricemic gout (xanthine oxidase inhibition), Stage 1 hypertension, and peptic ulcers.

Mechanism & Phytochemistry
1. 3,5-Dicaffeoylquinic acid and flavones inhibit medullary cough reflex while stimulating ciliary clearance to liquefy phlegm. 2. Luteolin and apigenin competitively inhibit hepatic xanthine oxidase, lowering uric acid. 3. Endothelial eNOS vasodilation.
Preparation & Dosage
THE SOVEREIGN QINGMING MEDICINAL HERB PASTRY (Qingming Guo / 清明果): 100 g fresh blanched herb pureed into paste, kneaded with glutinous rice flour, steamed 15 min. Dried herb decoction: 10-20 g daily. Extract: 250-500 mg.
