    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Axillary bromhidrosis and hyperhidrosis (antimicrobial suppression of Corynebacterium odor formation and sweat pore astringency), Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (a-glucosidase inhibition), functional dyspepsia, and chronic arthritis.

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Chlorogenic acid and terpenes inhibit Corynebacterium enzymatic cleavage of apocrine sweat into volatile malodorous fatty acids (MIC < 6.25 mg/mL) while tannins astringe sweat pores. 2. Dicaffeoylquinic acids blunt glucose surges. 3. Joint anti-inflammatory.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN BELUNTAS BODY-DEODORIZING TISANE: 15 to 20 g fresh tender leaves steeped covered in 350 mL hot water with lemongrass and mint for 10 min; taken twice daily for 14 days to purge sweat odor. Fresh blanched Ulam: 15 leaves daily with Sambal.
