    Cautions & Contraindications

    • CONTRAINDICATED in Yin-deficiency blazing fire with dry mouth and red tongue without coat. CONTRAINDICATED in active bleeding peptic ulcers. Use with caution in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Late-onset male hypogonadism and oligospermia (Leydig cell steroidogenesis and testosterone boost), functional gastric cold colic with vomiting, daybreak diarrhea, and chronic knee osteoarthritis.

    Piperine >= 3.00%-5.00%, Retrofractamide A-D & Piperlonguminine >= 1.50% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Retrofractamides and piperine upregulate Leydig cell StAR protein transcription, accelerating cholesterol mitochondrial translocation to boost testosterone. 2. TRPV1 sensory nerve activation dilates mucosal vessels. 3. P-gp bioenhancer.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN JAVANESE JAMU CABE PUYANG: 5 to 7 dried spikes (5-8 g) simmered with Zingiber zerumbet (Lempoyang), Temulawak, and palm sugar in 500 mL water for 20 min; taken warm every morning. Powder in honey: 1.5-2.5 g daily.
