    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Temporary pungent sulfur breath and urine odor occurs (neutralize by chewing roasted peanuts or drinking black coffee). Moderate use in acute gout flares (moderate purines). Safe in general use.

    Clinical Applications

    • Essential hypertension (ACE inhibition and vascular eNOS upregulation), Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (improving insulin sensitivity and b-cell release), calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis, and postprandial dyspepsia.

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Seed peptides and cyclic polysulfides inhibit Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) and stimulate endothelial eNOS for vasodilation. 2. High potassium diuresis flushes urinary calculi. 3. Thioproline stimulates insulin and scavenges nitrosamines.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN NANYANG SAMBAL PETAI UDANG: 100 to 150 g fresh split green seeds sauteed quickly in chili-belacan paste with sea prawns (consumed with rice for hypertension and kidney flush). Pod shell tea: 20-30 g dried sliced rinds boiled for diabetes.
