Mechanism & Phytochemistry
1. Pandamarilactonines and EGCG competitively inhibit hepatic xanthine oxidase, lowering serum uric acid and preventing joint crystal deposition. 2. 2AP modulates central GABA-A receptors, calming anxiety and lowering elevated heart rate. 3. Upregulates hepatic glycogen synthase.
Preparation & Dosage
Fresh tied leaves simmered in boiling water 10-15 minutes (Air Pandan Wangi): 15-30 g daily (3-5 leaves). Expressed emerald chlorophyll juice (Pati Pandan). Standardized extract: 300-600 mg.
