    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Paederoside and scandoside iridoids stimulate gastric pepsin and pancreatic amylase secretion while suppressing colonic NF-kB and IL-6. 2. Arbutin antimicrobial action. 3. Volatile dimethyl disulfide evaporates upon heating into sweet malt aroma.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN LINGNAN HAKKA JI SHI TENG MALNUTRITION RICE CAKE (Ji Shi Teng Gao / 鸡矢藤粑仔): 100 g fresh leaves pounded with water, expressed juice kneaded into glutinous rice dough, steamed with brown sugar and ginger for pediatric belly bloating. Decoct: 15-30 g.
