    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Ensure clean water washing before preparing topical fungal pastes. High clinical safety profile in external and internal applications. Contraindicated in cold watery diarrhea without heat signs.

    Clinical Applications

    • Tinea corporis/cruris/pedis (Trichophyton rubrum ringworm and athlete's foot), pityriasis versicolor (Panau), acute bleeding cuts, and infected tropical ulcers.

    Quality Markers

    Harmane & Harmine (b-Carbolines) >= 0.30%, Ursolic Acid >= 1.00% & Total Tannins >= 3.50% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Harmane and b-carboline alkaloids intercalate into fungal DNA and disrupt ergosterol cell membrane synthesis in Trichophyton and Malassezia (MIC 1.25-2.5 ug/mL). 2. Ursolic acid and tannins aggregate platelets to arrest bleeding in 60s.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN TINEA & RINGWORM ERADICATION PASTE (Pes Kurap Rumput Butang Bulu): 20 g fresh hispid leaves pounded with a pinch of sulfur/salt and coconut oil applied over ringworm twice daily for 7 days. Dried herb decoction: 10-20 g daily.
