Cautions & Contraindications
- High dietary and pharmaceutical safety profile with centuries of daily cooling tea use in Southern China and Malaysia. Contraindicated in cold watery diarrhea without food stagnation.
Clinical Applications
- Functional dyspepsia from greasy/fatty food stagnation, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD transaminase reduction), hypercholesterolemia, acute summer-heat gastroenteritis, and childhood milk retention.

1. Vitexin and narcissin stimulate gastric pepsin activity and upregulate hepatic PPAR-a and CYP7A1, accelerating bile acid synthesis and cholesterol clearance. 2. Inhibits pancreatic lipase. 3. Endothelial eNOS vasodilation.
Preparation & Dosage
THE SOVEREIGN LINGNAN GREASY-FOOD DIGESTIVE TEA (Bu Zha Ye Liangcha / 布渣叶消食茶): 15 to 30 g dried leaves boiled with 10 g Shan Zha (Crataegus) and 6 g Chenpi in 600 mL water for 15 min; consumed warm after rich meals. Decoct: 15-30 g daily.
