    Bleeding Paulownia (Mahang Putih / Xue Tong). Peltate parasol leaves and trunk sap oxidizing to blood-red resin within minutes. Sovereign emergency wound-wrapping leaf (Pembalut Luka) that halts bleeding, knits wounds, binds dysentery, heals boils.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Wash wild leaves clean before applying to open wounds. High safety profile in external and internal applications. Contraindicated in cold watery diarrhea without heat signs.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute bleeding cuts and traumatic lacerations (rapid platelet aggregation and hemostasis), acute bacillary dysentery, chronic weeping eczema, and atopic dermatitis.

    Quality Markers

    Macarangin (Prenylated Dihydroflavonol) >= 1.00%, Tanariflavonones A & B, Nymphaeols & Condensed Tannins >= 5.00% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Macarangin and nymphaeol prenylated flavonoids downregulate COX-2 and iNOS while precipitating plasma proteins for rapid wound clotting. 2. Condensed tannins cross-link enterocyte proteins to stop diarrhea. 3. Antifungal and anti-MRSA membrane lysis.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN MAHANG WOUND-WRAPPING LEAF: Fresh peltate parasol leaves washed, bruised, applied directly over bleeding lacerations, burns, and ulcers under cloth. Dried leaf/root decoction: 10-20 g daily. Topical red resin (Getah Mahang) dusted on cuts.
