Traditional Edict
Red Leea (Memali Merah). Flat-topped corymbs of bright scarlet-red flowers and dark purple berries. Clears blood-heat, activates circulation to purge retained postpartum lochia, soothes stomach ulcers, and lowers blood sugar in diabetes.
Cautions & Contraindications
- Shade-dry scarlet flowers to preserve anthocyanins. Contraindicated during active pregnancy (blood-activating dynamics). High safety profile.

Preparation & Dosage
THE SOVEREIGN POSTPARTUM LOCHIAL CLEARANCE BROTH: 20-30 g dried roots or leaves boiled with Temulawak and ginger in 500 mL water for 25 min. Antidiabetic tea: 15-20 g dried leaves daily. Topical burn salve: 30-50 g fresh leaves pounded with coconut oil.
