Traditional Edict
Bandicoot Berry (Memali). Hollow fire-tube stems and broad flat-topped cymes of white flowers. Clears blood-heat, engenders body fluids, lowers blood sugar in diabetes (Kencing Manis), heals peptic ulcers, and knits broken bones.
Cautions & Contraindications
- Monitor blood sugar when combining with metformin to avoid hypoglycemia. High clinical safety. Contraindicated in cold watery diarrhea without heat signs.

Preparation & Dosage
THE SOVEREIGN MEMALI GLYCEMIC TONIC TEA (Teh Daun Memali): 15-30 g dried leaves or sliced roots boiled in 1 L water for 25 min; taken warm before meals for diabetes. Peptic ulcer decoction: 15-20 g daily. Bone fracture poultice: 50 g fresh leaves.
