    Traditional Edict

    Red Flame Ivy (Sambang Darah / Blood Boundary). Metallic purplish-crimson iridescent leaves. Sovereign fast-acting styptic that stanches bleeding wounds, dissolves and expels kidney stones (Ubat Batu Karang), and halts bloody dysentery.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Ensure clean water washing before applying to open wounds. High clinical safety. Contraindicated in pure cold-deficiency watery diarrhea without bleeding or heat signs.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute bleeding lacerations, calcium oxalate urolithiasis/nephrolithiasis (stone dissolution), acute cystitis strangury, menorrhagia, bleeding hemorrhoids, and bacillary dysentery.

    Quality Markers

    Verbascoside (Acteoside) >= 0.80%, Anthocyanins, b-Sitosterol & Potassium Salts >= 2.00% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Verbascoside and tannins accelerate prothrombin activation and cross-link mucosal proteins for rapid wound hemostasis. 2. High natural potassium and polyphenols alkalize urine and inhibit calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM) stone nucleation. 3. Diuretic flush.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN SAMBANG DARAH HEMOSTATIC LEAF PASTE: 5-10 fresh purple leaves crushed between palms pressed over bleeding cuts (halts bleeding in 60s). Nephrolithiasis Stone-Expelling Decoction: 15-30 g dried leaves boiled in water daily.
