Mechanism & Phytochemistry

1. Goniothalamin (styrylpyrone) triggers selective mitochondrial Caspase-3/9 apoptosis in breast and ovarian cancer lines, downregulating Bcl-2 without harming normal lymphocytes. 2. Cardamonin downregulates NF-kB and COX-2. 3. Stimulates myometrial smooth muscle contraction.

Preparation & Dosage

Sliced dried roots/stems decocted 20-30 minutes: 5-12 g daily. Standardized Goniothalamin extract: 150-300 mg daily.
