    Traditional Edict

    Fingerroot (Temu Kunci Bulat). Fascicled finger-like golden-yellow roots with violin-shaped flower labellum. Warms middle burner, awakens Spleen, crushes epidemic Dengue viral fevers, eliminates bad breath, and heals mouth ulcers.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Warm zesty nature; use with caution in pure Yin deficiency blazing fire with dry tongue. High clinical and culinary safety. Safe in postpartum use.

    Clinical Applications

    • Dengue virus infection (potent non-competitive inhibition of DENV-2 NS2B/NS3 protease), oral periodontitis (Porphyromonas gingivalis biofilm destruction), aphthous stomatitis, and peptic ulcers.

    Quality Markers

    Panduratin A >= 1.50%, Pinostrobin >= 2.00% & Cardamonin (Alpinetin) (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Panduratin A allosterically inhibits Dengue virus NS2B/NS3 serine protease (IC50=21.4 uM), halting viral polyprotein cleavage and replication in monocytes. 2. Pinostrobin destroys periodontal bacterial biofilms. 3. Gastric PGE2 cytoprotection.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN DENGUE ANTIVIRAL INFUSION (Teh Temu Kunci): 20-30 g fresh finger roots sliced and simmered in 300 mL water for 15 min; taken twice daily during dengue fevers. Culinary Ulam: 10-20 g raw. Extract: 200-400 mg.
