Hyperuricemic gout (xanthine oxidase inhibition and renal urate excretion), functional dyspeptic anorexia, halitosis, hypercholesterolemia, and foodborne bacterial decontamination.

Mechanism & Phytochemistry

1. Chlorogenic acid and myricetin competitively inhibit hepatic xanthine oxidase (XOD), significantly lowering serum uric acid. 2. Essential oils lyse foodborne pathogens (Listeria, S. aureus). 3. Stimulates salivary and gastric acid secretion.

Preparation & Dosage

Fresh flower buds finely shredded in culinary broths (Laksa, Ulam): 20-50 g. Dried flower tisane (Teh Bunga Kantan): 5-10 g steeped in boiling water for 10 min for uric acid and digestion.
