    Traditional Edict

    Butter Fruit (Buah Mentega / Kamagong Ebony). Velvety reddish-copper fruit with creamy-white buttery flesh. Moistens Lung to stop dry cough, binds intestines to halt chronic diarrhea and dysentery, quenches thirst, lowers blood pressure.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Outer velvet fuzz contains mechanical skin irritants (ALWAYS BRUSH AND RINSE AWAY FUZZ BEFORE PEELING). Contraindicated in acute spastic constipation and severe dry stools.

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic dry tracheobronchitis, persistent dry cough, irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), acute bacillary dysentery (Shigella), Stage 1 essential hypertension, and atopic eczema.

    Quality Markers

    Betulinic Acid, Lupeol, Gallic Acid, Epicatechin & Condensed Proanthocyanidins >= 2.50% (HPLC MHM standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Condensed proanthocyanidins bind and precipitate mucosal surface enterocyte proteins, forming a protective non-permeable film that stops watery diarrhea. 2. Betulinic acid suppresses bronchial TNF-a and IL-6. 3. Epicatechin eNOS vasodilation.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN FRESH VELVET APPLE LUNG-MOISTENING PULP: Wipe away outer fuzz under running water, peel skin; consume 100-150 g fresh buttery flesh. Dried leaf/bark decoction: 10-20 g daily. Standardized extract: 250-500 mg.
