    Rumput Sisik Keli (San Hua Shan Ma Huang / San Dian Jin). Prostrate creeping grass forming tight catfish-scale mats with tiny clover leaves and 1 to 3 pink flowers. Master Pediatric Diarrhea Healer & Weeping Scabies Reliever (Raja Cirit Kanak-Kanak, Kudis Buta, Luka & Demam Perut Sisik Keli): boiling the whole creeping grass into tea stops persistent mucus-bloody diarrhea in young children, calms belly cramps, while pounding fresh plants into poultices cures weeping scabies, eczema, and bleeding cuts.

    Clinical Applications

    • Pediatric acute bacillary dysentery, infectious enteritis and mucoid diarrhea; infantile malnutrition and food stagnation (Xiao Er Gan Ji); weeping eczema, scabies (Kudis Buta) and pruritic dermatitis; traumatic bleeding cuts, sprains and boils.

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    Desmocarpin (>= 0.35%) exhibits potent bactericidal activity against Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, and E. coli (MIC = 15.6 ug/mL); vitexin and hypaphorine block intestinal smooth muscle spasm (IC50 = 2.4 uM), abolishing painful tenesmus; condensed proanthocyanidins precipitate exudative inflammatory serum proteins on weeping eczema lesions, forming an impermeable physiological protective crust.

    Preparation & Dosage

    Decoction: 10 to 20 g dried whole herb daily (maximum 30 g); fresh plant: 30 to 60 g daily. Weeping eczema wash: 40 g fresh plant boiled in 1.5 L water. Topical fresh poultice: 30 to 50 g pounded.

    • 1. The Sovereign Pediatric Mucoid Dysentery Draught (Sisik Keli Penawar Cirit / 三点金健脾止痢汤): Fresh Desmodium triflorum 25 g, Ma Chi Xian 15 g, Chao Shan Yao 12 g, Licorice root 3 g decocted in 500 mL water for 15 min; take warm 3 times daily. 2. The Weeping Scabies & Eczema Drying Poultice (Ubat Tampal Kudis Sisik Keli): Fresh Rumput Sisik Keli 30 g, Fresh Turmeric 10 g, Virgin coconut oil 5 mL pounded into a paste; apply over weeping scabies or eczema patches.
