    Akar Pokok Sumpah (Jia Mu Dou). Erect subshrub with sharply 3-angled silky stems and dense white flower clusters. Master Bone Knitter and Confinement Bath Sovereign (Raja Sambung Tulang Patah, Mandian Nifas & Penawar Demam Panas Pokok Sumpah): boiling the woody root and stem discs into a warming broth accelerates bone union in closed fractures, unblocks stiff sprained joints, while postpartum mothers bathe in the hot fragrant decoction to expel retained dark lochia, soothe uterine afterpains, and eliminate post-delivery chills.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • High clinical, orthopedic, and maternal safety profile. Safe during lactation and highly indicated for postpartum convalescence; use moderate doses during active pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Closed bone fractures, delayed callus union and traumatic joint sprains; postpartum lochial retention, uterine subinvolution and confinement chills (Mandian Nifas); chronic rheumatoid arthralgia, sciatica and lumbar muscle strain; lingering low-grade post-viral fevers and burning urinary strangury.

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    Triangularin (>= 0.45%) and isorhamnetin (>= 0.30%) upregulate osteoblast Runx2, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and BMP-2 expression, accelerating calcium phosphate deposition and converting soft callus into hard bone; quercetin glycosides and soyasaponins modulate myometrial smooth muscle tone to expel stagnant lochia; flavonoids downregulate preoptic hypothalamic pyrogens to terminate low-grade fevers.

    Preparation & Dosage

    Decoction: 15 to 30 g dried root or stems daily (maximum 45 g). Royal postpartum confinement bath (Mandian Nifas): 80 to 100 g fresh leafy branches boiled in 5.0 L water for 25 min for therapeutic bathing. Fresh plant in topical poultice: 30 to 60 g pounded over closed sprains. Standardized extract: 250 to 500 mg twice daily.

The Royal Postpartum Confinement Restorative Draught (Air Rebusan Nifas Pokok Sumpah): Dendrolobium triangulare stems 25 g, Yi Mu Cao 15 g, Dang Gui 10 g, Halia Bentong 10 g decocted in 600 mL water for 25 min; drink warm once daily.
