    Traditional Edict

    Jeringang (Xue Jie / Qi Lin Jie). Scaly rattan palm fruit resin petrifying into ruby tears. Holy Medicine of Traumatic Wounds and External Bone-Setting (Die Da Sheng Yao / Raja Penawar Darah, Ubat Parang & Sambung Tulang): dusting the crushed red resin into deep bleeding wounds seals gushing blood instantly without residual clotting, prevents wound gangrene, accelerates flesh union without scarring, while drinking a small pinch in warm water dissolves internal blood clots and relieves chest trauma.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Water-insoluble resin; never boil in aqueous decoctions. Contraindicated in pregnancy (potent blood-activating properties). Contraindicated in patients without blood stasis or during active menorrhagia.

    Clinical Applications

    • Severe traumatic lacerations, knife wounds, arterial-venous bleeding and surgical hemorrhage; deep subcutaneous hematomas, closed joint sprains and bone fractures; chronic non-healing diabetic foot ulcers, bedsores and cervical erosion; gastrointestinal mucosal bleeding and peptic ulceration.

    Dracorhodin >= 1.00%, Total Blood-Red Resins >= 80.0%, Alcohol-Soluble Extractive >= 85.0%, Resin Ash <= 6.0%

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    Dracorhodin (>= 1.00%) accelerates localized Factor XII (Hageman factor) activation and platelet glycoprotein cross-linking, producing an impermeable physiological fibrin seal; dracorubin (>= 0.50%) stimulates endothelial t-PA release to dissolve extravasated clots while suppressing NF-kB and COX-2 (IC50 = 1.4 uM); phenolic resins surge VEGF and bFGF by >140% to stimulate rapid fibroblast granulation and ulcer closure.

    Preparation & Dosage

    Ultra-fine water-ground powder (Shui Fei Xue Jie): strictly 1.0 to 2.0 g daily in capsules or pills (do not boil in water decoctions as resin is water-insoluble). Topical application: appropriate quantity dusted directly or blended into ointments (5% to 10%). Standardized extract: 150 to 300 mg twice daily. Qi Li San formulation.

The Classical Traumatology Seven-Thousandths Powder (Qi Li San / 医宗金鉴·七厘散): Shui Fei Xue Jie 30 g, Ru Xiang 4.5 g, Mo Yao 4.5 g, Hong Hua 4.5 g, Bing Pian 3.6 g ground to ultra-fine powder; take 0.3 g with warm wine for severe trauma, or dust directly over bleeding wounds. 2. The Chronic Diabetic Foot Ulcer & Bedsore Granulation Paste (Salap Jeringang Rawat Luka): Xue Jie fine powder 10 g, Pearl powder 5 g, Virgin coconut oil / Vaseline 85 g blended into a ruby ointment; apply over clean ulcers once daily.
