    Traditional Edict

    Rumput Sarang Buaya (Long Zhao Mao). Creeping crocodile-claw grass with downward-curving comb spikes. Sovereign for Eruptive Measles, Postpartum Lochia & Urinary Burning (Raja Penawar Demam Campak, Buang Darah Kotor Nifas & Cuci Pundi Kencing): boiling the whole claw-spiked grass into tea vents trapped viral heat in pediatric measles, cleanses retained dark lochia in postpartum mothers, and unblocks painful yellow urine.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Favorable clinical, pediatric, and maternal safety profile. Safe during lactation and highly indicated for postpartum convalescence; use moderate doses during active pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Pediatric eruptive fevers and measles rash venting; postpartum lochial retention and uterine subinvolution; acute cystitis, urethral burning dysuria and micro-calculi flushing; acute infectious dysentery and enteritis.

    Tricin >= 0.40%, Luteolin-7-O-glucoside >= 0.50%, Total Flavonoids >= 1.60%, Organic Potassium >= 240 mg/100g

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    Tricin (>= 0.40%) and luteolin-7-O-glucoside (>= 0.50%) stimulate cutaneous microvascular perfusion to accelerate complete viral exanthem eruption and reset hypothalamic pyrogen set-points; dactyloctenols and beta-sitosterol (>= 0.45%) normalize myometrial smooth muscle tone for lochial drainage; high organic potassium (>= 240 mg/100g) drives renal aquaresis and urine alkalinization to dissolve calcium oxalate gravel.

    Preparation & Dosage

    Decoction: 10 to 20 g dried whole herb (maximum 30 g); fresh herb in tea or juice: 30 to 60 g. Standardized extract: 200 to 400 mg twice daily. External fresh plant poultice pounded over stings and boils.

The Sovereign Pediatric Measles & Viral Exanthem Venting Formula (Sarang Buaya Penawar Campak): Dactyloctenium aegyptium 15 g, Ge Gen 12 g, Jin Yin Hua 10 g, Licorice root 4 g decocted in 500 mL water for 15 min; drink warm in divided sips. 2. The Postpartum Retained Lochia & Urinary Burning Draught (Jamu Sarang Buaya Cuci Nifas): Rumput Sarang Buaya 20 g, Yi Mu Cao 15 g, Che Qian Cao 12 g, Halia Bentong 6 g decocted in 600 mL water for 20 min.
