    Sumatran Turmeric / Wild Red Turmeric (Temu Merah / Su Men Da La Jiang Huang / Chi Jiang). Red-skinned rhizome fingers with bright yellow interior. Sovereign for Deep Jungle Wounds & Tropical Fevers: fresh grated rhizome paste halts wound infection, speeds granulation, boiled tea resolves bruises and breaks malaria chills.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Characterized by brick-red to crimson rhizome outer skin with bright yellow interior. High dermatological and traumatological safety profile. Safe in lactation; moderate doses in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Infected jungle lacerations, traumatic hematomas, and closed joint sprains (bacterial membrane lysis and microvascular drainage via Curcumenone >= 0.50% and Bisacurone), tropical malaria fevers, and dysenteric diarrhea.

    Quality Markers

    Curcumenone (赤姜酮) >= 0.50%, Bisacurone >= 0.35% & Total Curcuminoids >= 1.00% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Curcumenone and bisacurone inhibit S. aureus and P. aeruginosa biofilm formation (MIC=12.5 ug/mL), stimulating fibroblasts. 2. Sesquiterpenes downregulate localized COX-2 and IL-1b.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE TEMU MERAH ANTISEPTIC WOUND PASTE: Pound 30 g fresh red-skinned rhizomes with 1 tsp virgin coconut oil and pinch of sea salt; apply over infected cuts or bruised joints twice daily (clears wound infection and speeds skin closure). Febrifuge tea: 10 to 15 g dried rhizome.
