    Traditional Edict

    Aromatic Turmeric / Depressive-Qi Relieving Gold (Temu Kunci Hutan / Yu Jin / Huang Si Yu Jin / Radix Curcumae). Spindle root tubers with golden-amber flesh and pink coma spikes. Sovereign of Bencao Gangmu & Bai Jin Wan: clears Heart fire, dissolves coronary micro-thrombi, clears phlegm-heat coma, flushes gallstones.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Nineteen Incompatibilities: Never combine Yu Jin with Ding Xiang (Cloves). Use with caution in pregnancy; safe in lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, and chest tightness (platelet aggregation inhibition and coronary vasodilation via Curcumol and Curdione >= 0.50%), depressive neuroinflammation and brain fog, phlegm-heat stroke coma, and cholecystitis.

    Quality Markers

    Curcumol (莪术醇) >= 0.40%, Curdione >= 0.50% & Essential Oil >= 2.50% v/w (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Curcumol and curdione inhibit platelet GPIIb/IIIa and TXA2, dilating coronary arteries. 2. Beta-elemene crosses the blood-brain barrier, suppressing microglial NLRP3 inflammasome assembly (IC50=1.8 uM).

    Preparation & Dosage

    VINEGAR-PROCESSED YU JIN (Cu Zhi Yu Jin): Root tuber slices moistened with rice vinegar and stir-fried to golden; directs blood-moving power to Liver/Gallbladder. Classical decoction: 6 to 12 g daily. Incompatible with Cloves (Ding Xiang).
