    Colombian Waxweed / Tarweed (Rumput Bunga Keladi / E Ju Hua / Ping Wo E Ju Hua). Sticky glandular stems with purple spurred calyx flowers. Sovereign for Cutaneous Ulcers & Dysenteric Diarrhea: fresh crushed leaf paste disinfects weeping eczema and skin sores, while whole-herb tea astringes infectious dysentery.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Features diagnostic spur-like swollen calyx bases and sticky glandular stems. High dermatological and gastrointestinal safety profile. Safe in all ages.

    Clinical Applications

    • Infectious impetigo, weeping eczema, and tinea ringworm (dermatophyte and Staphylococcus lysis via Cupheaphyllin >= 0.40% and Ellagic acid), acute bacillary dysentery and diarrhea, and traumatic bleeding wounds.

    Quality Markers

    Cupheaphyllin >= 0.40%, Quercitrin >= 0.60% & Ellagic Acid >= 0.50% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Ellagic acid and quercitrin precipitate bacterial surface proteins, lysing S. aureus and Shigella (MIC=6.25 ug/mL). 2. Condensed tannins cross-link damaged dermal collagen, speeding wound closure.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE RUMPUT BUNGA KELADI ANTISEPTIC SKIN PASTE: Pound 30 g fresh whole herb with a pinch of sea salt into a cohesive paste; apply over weeping eczema, skin sores, or bleeding cuts (promotes clotting and healing). Dysentery tea: 15 to 25 g dried herb boiled in 500 mL water.
