    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Cryptolepine indoloquinoline alkaloid acts as a selective inhibitor of synovial COX-2, iNOS, and IL-6 (IC50=0.85 uM), halting joint destruction. 2. Buchananine stimulates mammary alveolar prolactin receptors.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN AKAR PEPULUT DEFORMING ARTHRITIS DECOCTION: 15 to 30 g dried sliced woody vines boiled with Du Huo (10 g) and Niu Xi (15 g) in 700 mL water for 25 min; drink warm twice daily for 30 to 60 days (unblocks rigid joints). Postpartum lactation broth: 20 g simmered with chicken.
