    Traditional Edict

    Purging Croton / Ba Dou (Pokok Ceka Emas / Ba Dou / Ba Dou Shuang / San Wu Bei Ji Wan). Ovate leaves with twin basal glands (Twin-Eyed Dragon). Lower Grade Emperor of Shennong Bencao Jing: Defatted seed powder (Ba Dou Shuang) blasts cold fecal impactions, dissolves suffocating throat phlegm in coma, purges tapeworms.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • BLACK BOX LETHAL PURGATIVE TOXICITY: Raw seeds/oil cause fatal hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and collapse. OVERDOSE ANTIDOTE: Cold mung bean soup (Leng Lu Dou Tang) or cold water instantly neutralizes phorbol esters and halts purging. ABSOLUTELY CONTRAINDICATED IN PREGNANCY.

    Clinical Applications

    • Intractable cold-accumulation constipation and bowel obstruction (massive intestinal CFTR chloride efflux via Phorbol Diesters >= 0.50%), acute phlegm asphyxiation in croup and coma (Hou Bi), and obstinate tapeworm parasitosis.

    Quality Markers

    Croton Oil Content in Ba Dou Shuang STRICTLY 18.0%-20.0%, Phorbol Diesters >= 0.50% & Crotonoside >= 0.10% (HPLC/Soxhlet standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Phorbol diesters bind Protein Kinase C (PKC) in intestinal mucosa, driving CFTR chloride channel opening and explosive fluid purgation. 2. Crotonoside stimulates vagal secretions, dislodging laryngeal phlegm plugs.

    Preparation & Dosage

    MANDATORY BA DOU SHUANG PROCESS: Seed kernels crushed, wrapped in absorbent paper, and pressed hydraulically in 5 to 7 heat cycles until residual oil is strictly reduced to 18.0%-20.0%: BA DOU SHUANG (巴豆霜). CLINICAL DOSE: STRICTLY 0.10 to 0.30 g (100-300 mg) in pills/capsules. (RAW SEEDS/OIL PROHIBITED).
