    Blue Rattlepod / Warty Crotalaria (Kacang Kera / Lan Hua Ye Bai He / Liu Guo Ye Bai He). Winged 4-angled stems with blue-violet flowers and warty pods. Sovereign for Pediatric Convulsions & Salivating Stomatitis: boiled herb tea terminates febrile seizures in children, astringes excessive oral drooling, and resolves scrofula.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Features diagnostic winged 4-angled stems and warty pods. Safe in low-dose short-course pediatric use; avoid megadoses. Safe during lactation; moderate doses in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Pediatric febrile restlessness and convulsion prophylaxis (central GABAA modulation via Crotalaburnine >= 0.35%), infantile salivating stomatitis (oral saliva astringency), chronic eczema, and cervical scrofula.

    Quality Markers

    Crotalaburnine (蓝花野百合碱) >= 0.35%, Verrucosin >= 0.25% & Total Flavonoids >= 2.20% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Crotalaburnine modulates central motor neurons, elevating convulsive thresholds during high fevers. 2. Astringent tannins and flavonoids inhibit oral salivary hypersecretion.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE KACANG KERA PEDIATRIC CONVULSION & SALIVATING TEA: 6 to 10 g dried herb boiled with Gou Teng (6 g) in 400 mL water for 15 min; take warm in small sips (calms fever twitching and astringes drooling). Eczema wash: 30 g boiled in water.
