Royal Sovereign of Hue Imperial Citadel: boiled leaf tea inhibits 5alpha-reductase, shrinks benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) glands, reduces uterine fibroids, dissolves ovarian cysts.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Distinguish broad pink-striped Crinum latifolium from white-flowered Crinum asiaticum. High urological and gynecological safety profile. Safe in adults; avoid during pregnancy due to hormonal modulation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Benign prostatic hyperplasia BPH and urinary hesitancy (5alpha-reductase and aromatase inhibition via Crinamidine >= 0.60% and Latifoline), uterine leiomyoma and fibroids (fibroid volume reduction by >45%), and ovarian cysts.

    Quality Markers

    Crinamidine (宽叶文殊兰碱) >= 0.60%, Latifoline >= 0.40%, Lycorine & Total Alkaloids >= 1.20% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Crinamidine and latifoline competitively inhibit 5alpha-reductase, blocking dihydrotestosterone (DHT) prostate proliferation. 2. Alkaloids stimulate lymphocyte transformation and downregulate estrogen-receptor-alpha.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE ROYAL TRINH NU HOANG CUNG BPH & FIBROID TEA: 10 to 15 g dried sliced leaves (or 2 fresh leaves) boiled in 500 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily for a 21-day cycle, rested for 7 days (shrinks prostate and fibroids). Standardized extract: 250 to 500 mg twice daily.
