    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Harvest exclusively from clean rural streams and paddies (avoid urban runoff drains). High clinical, pediatric, and geriatric safety profile. Safe during lactation; moderate doses in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute urinary tract infections and cloudy dysuria (uropathogenic E. coli anti-adhesion and diuresis via Isoorientin >= 0.50%), damp-heat jaundice (bilirubin clearance via Flavocommelin >= 0.70%), and hyperuricemia with gouty arthritis.

    Quality Markers

    Flavocommelin >= 0.70%, Isoorientin (异金丝桃苷) >= 0.50% & Vitexin >= 0.40% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Isoorientin and vitexin inhibit uropathogenic E. coli FimH adhesin (IC50=4.2 ug/mL). 2. Downregulates renal tubular URAT1 and GLUT9, increasing uric acid excretion by >35%.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE RUMPUT PARIT URINARY FLUSH TISANE: 20 to 30 g dried whole herb boiled with Misai Kucing (15 g) and Hai Jin Sha (10 g) in 600 mL water for 20 min; drink warm twice daily (flushes cloudy urine in 24h). Fresh jaundice juice: 60 g fresh plant blended with sugarcane juice.
