    Glory Bower / Forest Jasmine (Bunga Melur Hutan / Chong Ban Chou Mo Li / Mo Li Cheng Tong). Dense corymbs of double white-pink flowers with sweet jasmine scent and foetid leaves. Sovereign for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) & Leukorrhea: boiled root/leaf tea clears pelvic inflammation, heals arthritis.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Contrasting aroma (blossoms are delightfully sweet; crushed leaves are foetid-pungent). High gynecological and musculoskeletal safety profile. Safe in lactation; use moderate doses in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), endometritis, and adnexal inflammatory masses (macrophage NF-kB and COX-2 suppression via Acteoside >= 1.20% and Hispidulin), turbid vaginal leukorrhea, and deforming rheumatoid arthritis.

    Quality Markers

    Acteoside (洋丁香酚苷 / 毛蕊花糖苷) >= 1.20%, Hispidulin >= 0.60% & Total Phenylethanoid Glycosides >= 2.50% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Acteoside downregulates TNF-a, IL-1b, and iNOS in inflamed pelvic tissues (IC50=1.8 uM). 2. Clerodane diterpenes suppress synovial joint swelling and osteoclast bone erosion.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN BUNGA MELUR HUTAN PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DECOCTION: 15 to 25 g dried roots and leaves boiled with Yi Mu Cao (15 g) and Bai Jiang Cao (15 g) in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily (clears chronic pelvic pain and leukorrhea). Rheumatic bath: 50 g boiled in water.
