    • Spongy-fibrous bark uniquely rich in foaming saponins with clove aroma. High dermatological, maternal, and trichological safety profile. Safe during lactation and pregnancy; highly revered in confinement.

    Clinical Applications

    • Seborrheic dermatitis and scalp dandruff (ergosterol biosynthesis inhibition in Malassezia via Eugenol >= 45.0% and Saponins >= 8.0%), postpartum confinement abdominal distension (Bengkung binder warming), and gastric flatulent colic.

    Quality Markers

    Eugenol (丁香油酚) >= 45.0%-60.0% of volatile oil, Total Saponins >= 8.0% & Essential Oil >= 2.50% v/w (GC-MS standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Natural triterpene saponins act as bio-surfactants, emulsifying sebum without stripping moisture. 2. Eugenol lyses Malassezia fungal cell membranes (MIC=0.5 uL/mL) and blocks IL-8.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN NATURAL SINTOK SHAMPOO: 30 to 50 g thick fibrous bark soaked in 500 mL warm water for 15 min, crushed between palms until rich fragrant lather forms (massaged into scalp). Confinement Bengkung paste (Param/Tapel): 20 g bark powder with ginger applied over abdomen.
