Royal Malay Confinement Sovereign (Mandian Medang Teja): boiling leaves and bark in bathwater expels uterine wind (Angin Meroyan), breaks fevers through sweat.

    • Distinguished by strong eucalyptus-camphor-cinnamon aroma (high cineole). Exceptional maternal, clinical, and pediatric safety profile. Highly revered during postpartum confinement and lactation.

    Clinical Applications

    • Postpartum maternal convalescence and uterine subinvolution (myometrial circulation stimulation and lochial clearance via 1,8-Cineole and Cinnamaldehyde), acute wind-cold influenza fevers, and functional dyspeptic colic.

    Quality Markers

    1,8-Cineole (桉油精) >= 35.0%-50.0%, Cinnamaldehyde >= 15.0%, Eugenol & Essential Oil >= 1.50% v/w (GC-MS standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. 1,8-Cineole and eugenol stimulate cutaneous cholinergic sweating and induce vascular smooth muscle relaxation. 2. Downregulates uterine and synovial COX-2 (IC50=2.4 uM).

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN MANDIAN MEDANG TEJA CONFINEMENT BATH: 50 to 80 g dried Medang Teja leaves and crushed bark boiled in 5.0 L water for 20 min (bathe warm daily during postpartum confinement to warm the womb and clear chills). Carminative tea: 10 to 15 g boiled in 500 mL water.
