    Love Vine / False Dodder (Rambut Putri / Wu Gen Teng / Jin Si Teng). Leafless golden-yellow twining parasite. Sovereign for Painful Urinary Strangury & Jaundice: boiled vine tea clears burning hematuria, resolves acute nephritis dropsy, cools pelvic heat, arrests dysmenorrheic bleeding.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Distinguish from Convolvulaceae Cuscuta chinensis (Tu Si Zi); Cassytha is an evergreen parasitic Lauraceae with distinct tiny berry fruits enclosed in fleshy receptacle. Safe in lactation; moderate doses in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Acute and chronic urinary tract infections, burning strangury, and hematuria (uropathogenic bacterial suppression and diuretic flushes via Cassythine >= 0.60%), acute icteric hepatitis, and postpartum pelvic heat.

    Quality Markers

    Cassythine (无根藤碱) >= 0.60%, Filiformine, Ocoteine & Total Aporphine Alkaloids >= 2.20% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Cassythine and aporphine alkaloids inhibit alpha1-adrenergic receptors in bladder smooth muscle, relieving spastic dysuria. 2. Suppresses uropathogenic E. coli adherence.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN RAMBUT PUTRI STRANGURY & NEPHRITIS DECOCTION: 15 to 25 g dried golden vines boiled with Che Qian Cao (15 g) in 600 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily (clears burning urination). Jaundice hepatitis tea: 20 g boiled with Yin Chen (15 g).
