    Java Cassia / Apple Blossom Tree (Busuk-busuk / Zhao Wa Jue Ming / Jie Guo Jue Ming). Masses of pink-and-white apple-blossom clusters with slender jointed pods. Sovereign for Burning Fevers & Urinary Strangury: pod pulp/leaf tea drains bilious heat, flushes cloudy urine, clears constipation.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Slender jointed pods have mild pungent aroma when ripe. High clinical and pediatric safety profile. Safe in lactation; use moderate internal doses in early pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Febrile pyrexia and summer heatstroke, acute dysuria and cloudy urinary tract infection (osmotic diuresis via Chrysophanol and Flavonoids), chronic constipation, and sore throat.

    Quality Markers

    Javanicin, Chrysophanol >= 0.50%, Sennoside B >= 0.80% & Total Flavonoids >= 2.20% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Javanicin and chrysophanol inhibit pyrogenic cytokines (IL-1b, TNF-a) to abate fever. 2. Sennoside B stimulate colonic peristalsis while flavonoids flush urinary pathogens.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN BUSUK-BUSUK FEBRILE & URINARY TISANE: 10 to 15 g dried leaves or pod pulp boiled in 500 mL water for 15 min; taken warm twice daily (clears fever and unblocks urination). Gentle laxative: 5 to 10 g pod pulp dissolved in warm water.
