    Cautions & Contraindications

    Clinical Applications

    • Refractory neuropathic pain (diabetic peripheral neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia via TRPV1 desensitization and Substance P depletion via Capsaicin >= 0.25%), Spleen-Stomach deficiency cold gastralgia, and osteoarthritis.

    Quality Markers

    Capsaicin (辣椒素) >= 0.25%-0.50%, Capsanthin (辣椒红素) >= 0.40% & Total Capsaicinoids >= 0.60% (HPLC Chinese Pharmacopoeia standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Capsaicin binds TRPV1 vanilloid receptors, triggering sustained calcium influx that exhausts and depletes sensory nerve Substance P. 2. Stimulates gastric sensory nerves to release CGRP and eNOS.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN CAPSAICIN TOPICAL ANALGESIC PLASTER / OIL: 0.025% to 0.075% standardized capsaicin cream/oil massaged over neuropathic pain or arthritic joints 3 to 4 times daily (produces initial warmth followed by profound analgesia). Internal culinary/medicinal: 1.0 to 3.0 g dried powder in food/tea.
