    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Distinguished by dense terminal umbels (10-30 flowers) and small purple-black berries (8-12 mm). Exceptional clinical, hepatic, and musculoskeletal safety profile. Safe in lactation; moderate doses in pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Chronic viral hepatitis B/C, liver cirrhosis, and hepatosplenomegaly (parenchymal membrane stabilization via Taraxasterol >= 0.50%), deforming rheumatoid arthritis, and intermittent malarial fevers.

    Quality Markers

    Taraxasterol (蒲公英甾醇) >= 0.50%, Stachydrine >= 0.40% & Total Flavonoids >= 2.00% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Taraxasterol stabilizes hepatocyte lysosomal membranes against lipid peroxidation, normalizing transaminases by >65%. 2. Selectively inhibits NF-kB p65 and iNOS in arthritic joints (IC50=3.8 uM).

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN DURI BELANG HEPATOPROTECTIVE DECOCTION: 15 to 20 g dried root chips boiled with Dukung Anak (15 g) and Temulawak (10 g) in 600 mL water for 25 min; taken warm twice daily before meals (clears jaundice and fatty liver). Arthritic poultice: 30 to 50 g fresh leaves pounded with rice wine.
