Master for Uterine Hemostasis & Gastric Ulcers: concentrated leaf/root tea contracts the uterus to arrest postpartum flooding (Beng Lou), seals bleeding stomach ulcers, surges platelets.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Accelerates local platelet plug formation without generalized hypercoagulation. CONTRAINDICATED in active early pregnancy due to uterine-tonifying dynamics. Safe and highly indicated in postpartum confinement.

    Clinical Applications

    • Severe dysfunctional uterine bleeding and postpartum hemorrhage (stimulating platelet aggregation and thromboxane TXA2 via Forsythoside B and Acteoside), bleeding peptic gastric ulcers, and traumatic lacerations.

    Quality Markers

    Acteoside (毛蕊花糖苷) >= 1.00%, Forsythoside B >= 0.50% & Luteolin-7-O-glucoside >= 0.60% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Forsythoside B and acteoside stimulate vascular endothelium and platelets, reducing bleeding time by >52%. 2. Luteolin-7-glucoside downregulates gastric H+/K+-ATPase and seals ulcer craters.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN DU HONG HUA UTERINE & GASTRIC HEMOSTATIC DECOCTION: 20 to 30 g dried leaves boiled with Bai Ji (10 g) and ginger in 600 mL water for 20 min; taken warm twice daily (halts hemorrhage). Traumatic wound micro-powder: pure leaf powder dusted onto lacerations.
