    Fever Nut / Bonduc Nut (Mata Kucing / Ci Guo Su Mu / Buah Gorek). Prickly liana with spiny pods and marble-like grey seeds. Sovereign for Malarial Chills & Diabetes: seed powder with black pepper terminates malarial rigors, lowers diabetic blood sugar, and clears hydrocele swelling (Ubat Pasang).

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Raw seeds are intensely bitter and cause nausea if chewed raw (always encapsulate). Avoid internal medicinal megadoses in early pregnancy. Safe during lactation in standard therapeutic amounts.

    Clinical Applications

    • Multidrug-resistant malaria fevers (Plasmodium falciparum schizontocidal arrest via Bonducellin and Cassane diterpenes), Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (alpha-glucosidase inhibition), and scrotal hydrocele/orchitis.

    Quality Markers

    Bonducellin (刺果苏木素) >= 0.60%, Caesalpinine & Total Cassane Diterpenoids >= 2.50% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Bonducellin and caesalpinines disrupt plasmodial mitochondrial energy synthesis (IC50=0.6 ug/mL). 2. Upregulates skeletal muscle GLUT4 glucose uptake. 3. Anti-inflammatory scrotal decongestant.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN FEVER NUT ANTIMALARIAL POWDER: 1.0 to 2.0 g roasted seed kernel powder encapsulated or swallowed with warm ginger water twice daily (terminates chills). Hydrocele tea: 15 g root boiled with fennel (Adas, 10 g) in 500 mL water.
