Sovereign for Deformed Rheumatoid Joints & Ophthalmic Clouding: boiled leafy twigs unblock frozen deformed joints, dilate asthmatic airways, clear corneal opacities.

    Cautions & Contraindications

    • Aromatic volatile components (short-boil 15-20 min). High clinical and musculoskeletal safety profile. Safe during lactation; use moderate internal doses during active pregnancy.

    Clinical Applications

    • Deforming rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis (synovial chondroprotection via Buddlejasaponins and Acteoside), bronchial asthma and spastic coughs, and corneal clouding (cataracts/nebula).

    Buddlejasaponins I-IV >= 0.80%, Acteoside (毛蕊花糖苷) >= 0.60%, Luteolin & Essential Oil >= 0.80% (HPLC standard)

    Mechanism & Phytochemistry

    1. Buddlejasaponins and acteoside selectively downregulate synovial TNF-a, IL-1b, and MMP-13, preventing articular cartilage erosion. 2. Volatile terpenes relax tracheal smooth muscle.

    Preparation & Dosage

    THE SOVEREIGN BUNGA HARUM PUTIH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS DECOCTION: 15 to 25 g dried leafy twigs boiled in 600 mL water with 1 tbsp rice wine for 25 min; taken warm twice daily for deformed joint agony. Asthmatic tea: 10 g flowers steeped in boiling water.
